Post-TKR and THR Rehabilitation Treatment in Gurgaon

Total Hip Replacement (THR) is a common and highly successful surgery performed to relieve pain and stiffness caused by hip arthritis, fractures, or degenerative joint disease. While surgery provides a new joint, effective physiotherapy rehabilitation is essential to ensure long-term success and restore functional independence. At our clinic, we specialize in structured post-THR rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s recovery journey

Early Phase (0–2 weeks)

Rehabilitation begins soon after surgery, focusing on pain relief, swelling management, and safe mobility. Gentle range of motion (ROM) and strengthening exercises for the hip, thigh, and core
muscles are introduced. Patients are guided in using mobility aids such as walkers or crutches to promote safe walking while protecting  the new joint.

Intermediate Phase (2–6 weeks)

Rehabilitation begins soon after surgery, focusing on pain relief, swelling management, and safe mobility. Gentle range of motion (ROM) and strengthening exercises for the hip, thigh, and core muscles are introduced. Patients are guided in using mobility aids such as walkers or crutches to promote safe walking while protecting  the new joint.

Advanced Phase (6–12 weeks)

At this stage, the focus is on regaining full joint mobility, stability, and endurance. Patients participate in progressive strengthening exercises, balance training, and functional drills to prepare for daily and recreational activities. Walking distance and speed improve, and reliance on walking aids is gradually reduced.

Long-Term Recovery (3 months and beyond)

Ongoing physiotherapy ensures long-lasting outcomes, such as improved joint strength, pain-free mobility, and enhanced quality of life. For active individuals, advanced exercises and sport-specific rehabilitation can be included to restore full activity levels.
